Going Dutch and Orange & Yellow

Oranje natuurlijk! :D

Yep, made up my mind. I will do it in Dutch as well. What?! Well, I've decided to write my posts in Dutch as well as in English. I'm a sucker for the English language but I think it's easier to express myself in Dutch as it is my mother language. And what's a real Dutch colour?! Orange, that's right! Like I said last week I'm in need for loads of changes. And I felt like adding more colour in our living room. We already have lots of greens and blues and now it's getting company of the orange plus the yellow colour. Now I'm on the look out for new accessories to make and buy and that's no punishment, no punishment at all! :D

Pretty pastels

How pretty does this interior look?! The furniture, the accessories and it's colours, I think it all looks so amazing and so well put together. You tend to think that pastel colours are more likely to look cute, a thing I'm not too keen of. But I must say it could easily be my thing. Love it, love it, love it. :D
This Swedish family home is definitely eye candy!

Knitted

I remember when I was a little girl my dear Mum taught me how to knit. All I ever knitted was a scarf but my Mum knit me the most beautiful sweaters. Now years later I haven't got a clue how to anymore. Shame after seeing all these beauties online. But then again, I think I haven't got the patience for something like this....

To give & to get

Maybe you just feel like spending a bit of money. Or maybe you're already making your Christmas wishlist... Either way, you must take a look at Not on the High Street. Founders Holly Tucker and Sophie Cornish brought countless of gorgeous stuff under one roof.
Get yourself a cup of tea, make sure it's nice and warm indoors and start browsing their webshop. I'm sure it'll keep you entertained for quite some time. Below a few of the pretty things they sell.

Hurrah for HEMA

One of my fave department stores must be HEMA. This Dutch brand with branches in Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and France sells about everything, from food, to underwear, paint, clothes, office/school stuff and what not. But the greatest thing to like, for me, must be their home accessories. And it seems that they are getting better at it every year. They even have a home brochure out now. I'm a big fan. How bout you? Below some of their latest things.

Splashes of colour

On a rainy day like today here in The Netherlands, I wanted to spread some colour into blog world. Gorgeous and fun right, this home taken from Bolig Pluss?!

Stunning store: MERCI

On our first day of Paris we went to MERCI. I heard about it from other bloggers and I was really curious to see it myself. The store looks incredibly stunning, very spacious which I like very much. The things they sell, from flowers to furniture look just so beautiful and what makes it even more special is that everything is donated and all profits go to a children's charity in Madagascar.
There were so many things we would love to buy, but seeing we went with the train, there were some choices to be made. We bought for instance two gorgeous red enamel bowls which fit perfectly with the other accessories in the kitchen and two small gray bio-degradable cups. Wish I could visit MERCI every week.....

Romantic

I like to give our bedroom a bit of a change. Already been a bit busy with accessories and when we have our holidays (just a few days of work left, whoopwhoop) we will be putting up two shelves above the headboard. I like to think of our bedroom as modern, fun and a bit romantic as well. I found these pictures in Art & Decoration and now I'm in this total romantic mood. Shame boyfriend's not around, hehehe... ;)

J'adore green

Green in my wardrobe, green paint on the walls, green accessories. Yep, I think it's safe to say I'm quite crazy about green. Here some lovely pictures I spotted on Perscentrum Wonen. In the near future I will post some pictures of "everything" green in our house.

Cupboard make over

I have this love-hate thing with the cupboard. It holds lovely memories, but on the other hand I don't find it the greatest cupboard I've ever seen. So I decided to paint it with chalk paint...and wow, I fell back in love again. We choose this lovely green colour which goes with a lot of our accessories and we bought new handles as well. It was quite a bit of work, but I'm very pleased with it. Here some before and after pictures.

Colour me happy!

I'm a huge sucker for colour. Colour up on the walls and coloured accessories. There's not one wall left in our house with no colour. It brights the room and it makes me feel more me. Thankfully my boyfriend likes it as well. Of course nothing wrong with people liking white, but I can't see myself living in a house with white walls, ever.
How does that saying go again?! Ermmmm... :P

I love these pictures taken from apartmenttherapy.com.

Before & After

My boyfriend and I we live in this lovely 30's upstairs apartment which has two floors. Where I love, just love, changing things about. Not just the furniture or accessories, but the colour of the walls as well. Like we did for the living room, which used to be a light grey and a shade of brown colour, but we changed the brown into an amazing blue colour which makes the room look much more funky. Here some before and after pictures.
