Celebrate

Niet alleen is het vandaag een heuglijke dag omdat de Lente is begonnen en ook nog eens het zonnetje lekker scheen. Nee, ik heb nog meer goed nieuws: Het is ook nog eens Macaron Dag. Jammer is wel dat we niet in Parijs wonen en daar nu de real deal kunnen eten zoals mijn lief en ik afgelopen zomer deden. Maar toch...de dag van het lekkere koekje hebben we te danken aan Pierre Hermé, de Macaronkoning. En met dan maar een plaatje van die heerlijke zoetigheid luid ik graag met jullie de Lente in. Fijne Lente allemaal!

Today is not only a fun  day because Spring has started and because here in The Netherlands the sun was shining. No, it was not only that. Today is also an official Macaron Day. Unfortunately we don't live in Paris and we're able to eat the real deal there, just like my love and I did last summer. But still, Macaron Day is a fact all thanks to Pierre Hermé, the Macaronking. And because I'm short of the real yummy cookies, I'd like to celebrate the start of Spring with this sweet picture. Happy Spring everybody!

Ever since I went to Paris with my loved one last summer, I need to sigh when I see a picture of that very city. We had so much fun and I love to go back there again in the near future. But wow, what it must be like to have a view like this from your home....

Polaroid wall

There was an empty wall in the hallway which now turned into the wall of fame, well sort of, lol.....
Those polaroid frames by Umbra are amazing and you can write text on them with a whiteboard marker, so much fun.
We are planning on changing pictures every now and then, to give it a new look whenever we feel like it.

Colourful yumminess

When I heard about macarons, I just knew I had to taste them. And not just any macarons, but those from Laduree in Paris. 
That store is popular for it's macarons and there's pretty much always a line of people waiting in the store to buy the yumminess. I think we waited about 45 mins and boy oh boy, it was well worth it. *Y*U*M*M*Y* :D

Lotus love

Many of my fave blogs are Scandinavian. For some reason I have a soft spot for their style and furniture. While browsing some of them I noticed the Lotus tealight holder, so incredibly cute, love them instantly. When we were in Paris I looked round for some, but couldn't find any...shame. But the other week when we went shopping in our own country, thanks to my boyfriend, I bumped into them. And they look so cosy and lovely on the piano. So glad we got our hands on them. Those simple things in life that make me happy.....

Garland with funky lights

As you may know my big love and myself, we went to Paris last week. I was hoping to buy loads of things for our home, so we visited quite some interior stores. One of them was Lafayette Maison at Galeries Lafayette. The first moment we stepped in we saw all these colourful balls in many different transparent tubes. Curious as we are, we wanted to know what was going on with the thousands and thousands of balls. And as it turned out you can design your own garland of lights. Each light of that garland is covered with a ball. You can buy an electric wire, available in four colours, consisting of 20, 35 or 50 lights and then you can pick your own fave coloured balls. Doesn't it sound like fun?! They're from La Case de cousin Paul. Unfortunately you can't buy them here in The Netherlands but you can buy them online. We choose the colours we have in our livingroom and I am ever so happy with the garland as it looks so fabulous. And we had the perfect spot to hang it and let it shine. Fun fun fun!

Stunning store: MERCI

On our first day of Paris we went to MERCI. I heard about it from other bloggers and I was really curious to see it myself. The store looks incredibly stunning, very spacious which I like very much. The things they sell, from flowers to furniture look just so beautiful and what makes it even more special is that everything is donated and all profits go to a children's charity in Madagascar. 
There were so many things we would love to buy, but seeing we went with the train, there were some choices to be made. We bought for instance two gorgeous red enamel bowls which fit perfectly with the other accessories in the kitchen and two small gray bio-degradable cups. Wish I could visit MERCI every week.....

As happy as can be

Woohoo....finally: HOLIDAY!!!! My sweetheart and myself are having 3 weeks off now and never in my life I was longing this badly for my holidays. Work's been an incredible drag and I was really counting down the days (ehum..weeks). And therefore just some beautiful random feel good pictures!!

*L*O*V*E* part two

Our little furry man, who will be traveling to Paris with us in a few weeks time, relaxing in the sun the other day. Unfortunately a moment that didn't happen that often the past few weeks as the sun barely showed itself.

Paris oh Paris...

We celebrated my boyfriend's birthday yesterday. It was a lovely day despite all the heavy rain. I surprised him with a cake with a picture of him and our dog Bo on top. Don't they make the cutest pair?!

Now that being in the past, I'm ever so much looking forward to our trip to Paris in August. I've been there before, but that's been over 18 years ago... We are renting our very own apartment, which on pictures looks like a lovely decorated one. We are planning on taking a canal ride, see lots of things, go to some markets perhaps and eat lots of good food. Can't wait to taste real Parisian macarons, they seem tres yummy.
Counting down the weeks already.....
